  Live the Letage

  a chef’s passion project: l’étage has been run since 2011 by chef guillaume mallet, who took over the restaurant when he was just 20 years old. raised in a culinary family and trained in kitchens in london and paris, he combines his cooking and front-of-house skills — often personally serving guests — to share his passion for gastronomy directly with diners. historic & unique setting: the restaurant is housed in a building that’s been part of lyon’s history for more than a century. its name l’étage (meaning “the floor” or “upper level”) reflects that it occupies an upper level — a cozy, elevated dining space with views of the lively place des terreaux below.
