Kamphaeng Phet Historical Park is an expansive archaeological site and a UNESCO World Heritage destination that preserves the ruins of an ancient frontier city from the Sukhothai and Ayutthaya eras. Known as the "Diamond Wall" for its formidable defensive fortifications, the park features unique laterite architecture and distinct Buddhist art styles across its two main zones: the walled Inner District, which housed royal temples like Wat Phra Kaeo, and the forested Aranyik Area, where over 40 ancient forest temples provided a secluded retreat for meditation monks.
